At DAKSH, we were glad to partner with UNDP in India and Digital Futures Lab to host a launch of our ‘AI For Justice’ report at the UN House in New Delhi on March 24, 2026. The report, commissioned and supported by UNDP India, examines the state of AI adoption in Indian courts, and proposes a rights-based, transparent and ethical framework to guide its adoption.
The session opened with a keynote by Hon’ble Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay, followed by a presentation by Smita Mutt (DAKSH) and Dona Mathew (Digital Future Labs) on the findings of the report. This was followed by a rich panel discussion featuring Hon’ble (Retd.) Justice Rajiv Shakdher, Former Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, and Jhalak Kakkar, Executive Director, Centre for Communication Governance, National Law University, Delhi, and was moderated by Leah Verghese (DAKSH).
Bringing together voices from the judiciary, government, academia, and civil society, the discussion on responsible AI adoption in courts was made truly meaningful by everyone who joined us.
