Know your MP
DAKSH recently put together brief statements of each Karnataka MP, covering his/her personal information, parliamentary performance, the use of his/her MPLAD funds, etc. Click here for details of each of the MPs from the 14th Lok Sabha.
Perception of Effectiveness of MP
DAKSH conducted a survey in the parliamentary constituencies in Karnataka in the months of Dec. 2007-Jan. 2008. The survey asked the respondents two main things- a) what are the issues that are of importance to them when they vote in elections? and b) how have their representatives performed on those issues? The combination of the answers to these two questions gives us an Approval Rating of elected representatives, in most cases. As the survey was randomized, the survey results can also be evaluated on the basis of gender, education, income groups and rural vs. urban population, among other factors. Details for each constituency are also available for people who may be interested. |
